Naomi Deborah Asnes
Naomi Deborah (nee Rosenstein) Asnes, 93, of Mobile, AL, formerly of Leonia, died July 1.
Prior to retiring in 1981, Mrs. Asnes was a mathematics teacher in Hackensack High School. She also taught at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She was a member of Cong. Sons of Israel in Leonia.
Beloved wife of the late Harry Asnes and long time companion of the late John Stenken (former mayor of Leonia). Cherished daughter of the late Jacob and Florence Rosenstein, MD (Jersey City, NJ). Devoted mother of Clara Asnes Berliant (St. Louis, MO), Florence Kessler (Mobile, AL) and the late Sarah Altman (Glen Ridge, NJ). Dear sister of the late Anita Jaffe. Cherished sister-in-law of Pearl Fultonberg. Loving grandmother of Elizabeth Campbell Kelly, Harrison Altman, Lillian Altman, Matthew Kessler, Stacy Kessler and Joanna Kessler.

Salvatore Ledda
Salvatore Ledda, 51, of Hackensack, died July 1.
Salvatore was born on Feb. 10, in Sardinia, Italy. He was a stone cutter for Castel Tile Inc. Hackensack.

Jacqueline Spruill
Jacqueline Spruill of Stockbridge, Ga., formerly of Hackensack, died on June 30.
Dear daughter to Jerdine Spruill, sister to Samuel E. Spruill, Jr., and Monica Wilson, aunt to Destiny Wilson, sister-in-law to Dale Wilson. She is survived by many other relatives and friends.

Carolyn J. Nance
Carolyn J. Midgette Nance, of Tobyhanny, PA, formerly of Hackensack, died July 6.
Beloved wife of Eddie Nance, mother of Carolinda L. Jones, Charlean Midgette, Robie W. Jones, sister of Sharon Morrison, Iris Hunter, Ralph Walter Jones and the late Mildred Bonds and Robert Jones. Also survived by six grandchildren, one great-grandson, six adopted siblings, five nieces, two nephews, four godchildren, other relatives and friends.

Maria D. Presti
Maria D. (nee Mata) Presti, of Hackensack, died Wednesday, July 9.
She was a volunteer teacher and advisor for the Hispanic students for many years at Holy Trinity School in Hackensack she was also a parishioner at Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Hackensack. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook and spend time helping others.
Beloved wife of Salvatore Presti for 51 years. Devoted mother of Anna Murray and her husband Sean, Michele Bozek and her husband Paul and Nick Presti and his wife Rosita. Cherished and devoted grandmother of John R., Avery, Kyle, Shannon, Daniella and Isabela. Dearest sister of Agustin Mata, Rosita Robayo, Leonor Rausch and the late Rafael Mata.

Emma B. Brussa
Emma B. (nee Tacinelli) Brussa, 90, of Maywood, died July 10.
Born in Hackensack, she was a lifelong resident of Maywood. She was an office worker for American Mutual, Hackensack. She was a member of the Maywood American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary. She loved her animals, her Bingo and to cook for family and friends.
She joins in Heaven, her beloved husband Ray. She leaves behind her loving daughter Marion Joy Brussa; her cherished granddaughter Jaimie Padilla and her husband Damian; and her great-grandchildren Emily and Joshua. The Noni of Noni's has moved her kitchen upstairs.

Joseph Christmas Sr.
Joseph Christmas Sr., of Hackensack, died July 8.
Beloved husband of Josephine Christmas; father of Wendy E. Christmas, Ecina Christmas, Gregory, Ricky and Larry Christmas; brother of Evelyn Johnson, Louise Scott, Mary Washington, Ethel Mae Johnson, William Christmas. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

John A. Amore
John A. Amore, 97, of Hackensack, died on Sunday, July 13.
He worked for 35 years as a supply manager for the Hackensack Board of Education, retiring in 1970. He was an Army Veteran of World War II who stormed the Beaches of Normandy, he was a member and former officer of the American Legion Captain H.B. Doremus Post #55 in Hackensack for over 40 years, a member of the B.P.O Elks Lodge #658 of Hackensack and member of the Trinity Leisure Club and a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Hackensack.
Beloved husband of the late Viola (nee Linhart) 1999. Dearest brother of Mary Polifrone of Hackensack, Vincent Amore and his wife Pat of South Carolina, Eleanor De Riso and her husband Carmen of Hackensack and the late Margaret Viggiano, Madeline Minnella and Catherine Traina. John is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Flavio A. Peralta, 76, of Hackensack, died on Tuesday July 15.
Born in Ecuador, he worked as a machine operator for F.P. Schmidth Company in South Hackensack for 15 years retiring in 1997.
Beloved husband of Mercedes (nee Macancela). Loving father of Lourdes Peralta of Hackensack, Miriam Miranda and her husband Raul of Garfield, Peter Peralta and his wife Mary of Pompton Lakes and Poppy Teran and her husband Luis Felipe of Saddle Brook. Cherished grandfather of Tannya, Karyna, Raul A., Andrew, Erika, Ashley, Brandon and Peter Jr. Dearest brother of Tomas, Carlos and the late Florencio, Vicente, Cesar, Alberto, Dolores and Julia. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

She worked in the sale department for Inverness in Fair Lawn.
